What is worldview fit?
Last updated · By StockDashes
StockDashes scores your portfolio 0–100 against the worldviews you choose, and that score is your worldview fit. Worldview fit is a 0–100 score for how well a stock portfolio matches an investor’s view of where the world is heading.
What counts as a worldview
A worldview is a view about where the world is heading that moves company results — AI being built out at scale, populations ageing, interest rates staying higher for longer. In StockDashes you choose up to 4 at a time, from ten ready-made ones or written in your own words.
How a verdict is decided
For each holding, an AI looks at what the company does and judges how the worldview affects its business: Benefits, Hurt, Neutral, or Mixed when two real forces pull in opposite directions. Every verdict comes with a one-line reason shown to you, so you can check it. A verdict describes the business’s exposure to the worldview — not the share price, and not whether the stock is good value.
How the score is calculated
Each holding counts with its share of the value of your marked holdings: Benefits +1, Hurt −1, Neutral and Mixed 0. Added up, that gives a number from −1 to +1 for each worldview, and the numbers for your worldviews are averaged. That average is turned into the 0–100 score: 0 gives 50, a balanced position; a net three-quarters of the value benefiting gives 100, and a net three-quarters hurt gives 0. Between those, the score moves in a straight line. The fit appears once at least half of your priced holdings’ value has been marked.
A worked example
Five hypothetical holdings and one worldview. Each holding’s share of the value and its verdict give what it counts for (Benefits +1, Hurt −1, Neutral and Mixed 0, times its share):
| Holding | Share of value | Verdict | Counts for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Holding A | 30% | Benefits | +0.30 |
| Holding B | 25% | Benefits | +0.25 |
| Holding C | 20% | Neutral | 0.00 |
| Holding D | 15% | Mixed | 0.00 |
| Holding E | 10% | Hurt | −0.10 |
Added up: 0.30 + 0.25 + 0.00 + 0.00 − 0.10 = 0.45. Turned into the score: 50 + 50 × 0.45 ÷ 0.75 = 80. This portfolio’s worldview fit is 80.
