AI build-out
Last updated · By StockDashes
Is my portfolio positioned for the AI build-out?
StockDashes scores your portfolio 0–100 against the AI build-out worldview: your portfolio fits it when your money sits in the businesses the build-out runs through — the chips that train and run AI models, the power and cooling for data centres, companies putting AI to work in their own operations — rather than in work AI makes cheaper.

Example portfolioWhat this worldview says
The worldview, as StockDashes states it:
The AI buildout is real and compounding — compute and power lead, and it is deflationary in the sectors it touches.
The companies that benefit are the ones the build-out runs through. First compute: the chips that train and run AI models, the machines that make those chips, and the memory and networking around them. Then power: AI data centres need electricity around the clock, so power generation and the equipment that delivers and cools it are part of the same build-out. And AI-native operators: companies that build AI capacity and put the efficiency it creates to work in their own business.
Most companies are neutral under this worldview: they use AI, as nearly every business will, but it isn’t what drives their results. A company is mixed when two real forces pull in opposite directions — for example a software maker that charges for new AI features while AI makes the work its customers pay for cheaper.
The worldview also says AI is deflationary in the sectors it touches. The companies it hurts are the ones whose product AI makes cheaper or replaces: work charged by the hour or by the seat, and services that AI can deliver at a fraction of the cost.
How StockDashes scores your portfolio against it
Worldview fit is a 0–100 score for how well a stock portfolio matches an investor’s view of where the world is heading.
Each holding in your portfolio is marked against the worldview as Benefits, Neutral, Mixed or Hurt, with a one-line reason. The marks are weighted by what each holding is worth: Benefits pushes the score up, Hurt pulls it down, and Neutral leaves it where it is; Mixed means two real forces pull in opposite directions, so it counts half each way and cancels out. A portfolio that is balanced, or mostly neutral, lands at 50; one where most of the value benefits scores high, and one where most of it is hurt scores low. With several worldviews, each is worked out the same way and the results are averaged. Worldview fit is 60% of your 0–100 portfolio score, next to diversification and volatility.
Worldview fit measures how well your holdings match your view. It doesn’t say whether the view is right or whether the stocks are good value.

Frequently asked questions
Is there a tool that checks whether my portfolio fits my view of where the world is heading?
Yes. StockDashes lets you choose up to 4 worldviews — such as the AI build-out — or write your own, and marks every holding in your portfolio as benefiting from, hurt by, neutral to or mixed on each one. The result is your worldview fit: a 0–100 score with a one-line reason for every holding.
How do I know if my portfolio is positioned for the AI build-out?
Import your portfolio into StockDashes and choose the AI build-out as one of your worldviews. You see what share of your portfolio’s value benefits from it, is hurt by it, is neutral or mixed, and which holdings sit on each side, each with a one-line reason.
What is worldview fit?
Worldview fit is a 0–100 score for how well a stock portfolio matches an investor’s view of where the world is heading. It is worked out from how each holding relates to the worldviews you choose, weighted by what each holding is worth, and it is 60% of the StockDashes portfolio score.
Which kinds of companies does the AI build-out benefit?
The companies the build-out runs through: compute — AI chips, chipmaking equipment, memory and networking; power for data centres — generation and the equipment that delivers and cools it; and AI-native operators that build AI capacity and use its efficiency in their own business.
Can I combine the AI build-out with other worldviews?
Yes. You keep up to 4 worldviews at a time, picked from the ten ready-made ones or written in your own words, and every holding is marked against each of them. Your worldview fit combines them all.

What it doesn’t do
- It doesn’t tell you what to trade, or when. It shows how your portfolio lines up with the worldviews you chose; what you do with that is yours.
- It doesn’t say whether a worldview is right. You choose the worldviews; StockDashes shows how your holdings line up with them.
